I make my soaps in small batches by hand, with love. Variety availability changes month to month and seasonally. Rosemary Herbal Shampoo Bar Soap
This shampoo bar soap is an earth friendly way to wash your hair. No plastic bottles- yay!
These shampoo soaps are formulated with plant oils that have a low amount of unsaponifiables—or parts of the oil that don’t turn into soap and are conditioning or moisturizing for skin, but can leave a gunky-feeling residue on hair. These bars are infused with loads of hair-nourishing herbs & ingredients including: apple cider vinegar, marshmallow root, horsetail, nettle, wild bergamot, rosemary, and soapwort infusions; as well as rosemary and lemongrass essential oils.
NOTE: Most folks need to use a vinegar rinse after washing with a true soap shampoo bar, because real soap is naturally alkaline—lifting the scales on the hair shaft which can leave a coarse, “grabby” feeling to the hair. Put 1/8th inch of apple cider vinegar in the bottom of a cup and fill the rest of the way with warm shower water. Pour this over your hair after washing with shampoo bar soap and rinse briefly with shower water. You’ll be amazed the magic this works—replacing the natural acid mantle of the hair, laying down those scales on the hair shaft, and making it feel smooth and silky.
Experiment with the amount of vinegar you need to use: if your hair feels greasy or heavy afterward you may need a less concentrated vinegar solution; if it feels coarse and tangly, you probably need a bit more. You don’t have to, but you can use your normal conditioner after the vinegar rinse if you need it, OR try our hair serum (leave in herbal conditioner).
Let me know if you have any questions! Shampoo bar soap can take a little experimenting and getting used to, but it’s worth it to use a totally natural (non-synthetic) cleanser on your hair, creating zero waste (no plastic bottles- hooray!) at the same time.
Plus, these shampoo bars are really luxurious—rich, creamy lather, fresh scent, and cute little dragonfly stamped into each bar.
Ingredients: organic coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, castor oil, cocoa butter, expeller pressed non-gmo canola oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil, sodium hydroxide; marshmallow root, horsetail, nettle, wild bergamot, rosemary, and soapwort infused apple cider vinegar; rosemary, lemongrass, and cedarwood essential oils; sea salt.
