North Woods tea blend: this sustainably and respectfully wild-harvested blend of white pine needle, wintergreen leaf, cedar leaf, and sweet fern will soothe and warm you on a cold winter’s night. This pleasantly subtle and unique flavor is reminiscent of a quiet, snowy northern forest.
Bittersweet—A Homegrown Music album (digital download): Need some soul soothing? Music can be powerful medicine. Jenny's acoustic music is gentle and authentic, and has been appreciated through the years by young children and families, used by massage therapists as relaxing background music, to comfort folks going into surgery, and performed at festivals, schools, libraries, resorts, house concerts, around campfires, and more. This is a new compilation of old favorites and new (never released before) songs and tunes by singer-songwriter Jenny Mahan. This is an acoustic, peaceful, soothing, celebration of fresh water and wild woods, of deep roots, simple living, family & community ties, and the things that really matter most. Acoustic instruments include: guitar, Appalachian dulcimer, fiddle, penny whistle, banjo ukulele, flute, bodhran/skin drum, concertina, musical saw, and more.

About our Goods:
All our goods are 100% Natural and handmade — which for us means: absolutely no synthetic nor petroleum based fragrances, colorants, additives, nor pre-manufactured bases of any kind EVER. Our goods are lovingly handmade by us from scratch, and are tested only on willing humans. They are formulated to be mild and good for those with sensitive skin, chemical sensitivities, and skin or other health concerns. (We use a plant oil base mix for our soaps and other skin care goods, local beeswax for our clean burning candles, lead-free organic cotton or hemp wicks, and pure essential oils for scents.)
Jenny has 20 years of soap-making experience and has honed the craft to formulate mild, luxurious, long lasting (if properly cared for) hand made soaps. She is also a Registered Nurse and a mother, so is knowledgeable about and careful of safe ingredients for tender skin. Son, Glinden, is learning the craft as well and helps with gathering botanicals, mixing, cutting, and packaging soaps. Spouse, Joel, uses traditional wood-working tools to make our soap molds, curing shelves, etc.
We make our soaps and other goods with our own hands in lovingly crafted small batches on our homestead in northern Wisconsin, in our mostly passive-solar small home. We love what we do and where we live and try to make that shine through in what we make for you, using as few resources as responsibly as possible in the process.
About our Efforts to Reduce Waste:
We are dedicated to being as close to zero waste packaging as possible, and NEVER use plastic nor styrafoam in our labels or packaging. We adhere to the three R's guidelines — we first try to reduce and simplify our labels and packaging (i.e. sizing shipping boxes to not need lots of filler padding, for example); try to reuse things like paper (last year's garden catalog), or fabric (clean flannel shirt cordage); and use recycled materials whenever possible (and recycle everything we can).
We use wood soap molds (made from reclaimed wood from building our own house) with reusable liners (instead of lining with paper or plastic that gets thrown out after one use), and use reusable mats and/or fabric for cutting and curing the bars (again, instead of one-use paper). We use kraft and wax paper, cotton and other natural fibers/fabrics, glass jars, etc. whenever necessary to avoid further additions of plastic and synthetic fibers to our world.
